History of CSI

In 1988 he went to work for Newbury Park Chiropractic learning from some very skilled Chiropractors but kept up with his travels working with teams and organizations from around the world. In 1989 he broke off and formed a small clinic in Westlake called Westlake Village Chiropractic. Along with working at this clinic he was traveling full time with the Coors Lite then later Budweiser Professional Water ski tour and Park Pre Professional cycling team. These events allowed him to continue to learn how the athlete functions and what they need to perform at their peak. It also gave him a great opportunity to work with many more Sports Chiropractors, Orthopedic Surgeons, Athletic Trainers, Paramedics/EMTs and Massage therapists educating him on the team approach to health care.

During these travels he started to create a vision of a facility where athletes and active people could go and get the highest quality of care that they have ever experienced. Knowledgeable Doctors, the best massage therapists around, friendly/warm staff and cutting edge technology was the initial dream. Well, the dream has become a reality.

In 1992 a cutting edge Sports Chiropractic Facility was born, where you went for the knowledge and experience, not for a specific Doctor. All our Doctors are highly trained and have both post graduate degrees in Sports Chiropractic, longer internships, experience working with both professional and top amateur teams/individuals, as well as numerous extended hours in Advanced technology such as Cold Lasers, Cellular detoxification and advanced tissue recovery techniques.

Several years ago CSI established a year long Sports Chiropractic Internship program where Doctors of Chiropractic who want to increase their knowledge in the field of Sports Chiropractic can apply. To date, many Doctors have trained and have gone on to successful careers in Sports Chiropractic both Nationally and Internationally.

Two of his very best Interns are now working full time at CSI. Dr. Ed Green who trained and worked at CSI since 2001 and now runs CSI Moorpark and Dr. Derek Pelofsky who finished his Internship in 2007 and will work out of CSI Westlake and CSI Mobile.

After caring for the great athletes of Moorpark High school for two years we decided to expand to the town of Moorpark. In October of 2005 we opened CSI Moorpark to provide high quality Sports Chiropractic Care to the Moorpark and Simi region.
