With recent trends in alternative health care, proper breathing has become a focus of various health philosophies. Proper breathing can aid in alleviating stress and aid in regulating vascular components by decreasing blood flow, regulating heart function, alleviating hypertonicity in muscles. Patients who sit at desks all day become “Neck Breathers”. Meaning they use the muscles of their neck to contract and relax their lungs. This is inefficient and will lead to toxins to build up in the body. By following the presented exercises, the patient will strengthen and exercise the proper muscles used in breathing. After a short time they will begin to experience the benefits of proper breathing and enhanced vitality.
